Description
Big brother to the Kumamoto oyster, the Sumo Kumo more than lives up to its name! Taking about 4 years to mature, they are grown from heirloom seeds from the original Japanese imports from the late 1940s, and are rarely found outside Chapman’s Cove, WA.
With a salted honeydew meat that fills up the deep cupped shells, brimming with sweet liquor, they’re perfect for both connoisseurs of the Kumamoto and a great size for grilling!
Size: 2.5 – 3 inches
Flavor Profile: Honey melon & sweet lime, with a hint of brine & a pleasant sweetness
Suggested Serving: Grilled or raw
